Sometimes called the TaNaKh, the Jewish Bible, or, in Christian circles, the Old Testament, the Hebrew Bible is a rich collection of thirty-nine texts written primarily in Hebrew with some Aramaic portions. In my opinion, the sacred collection of texts in the Hebrew Bible are some of the finest pieces of literature ever produced. Unfortunately, their literary value remains underappreciated. Certainly, within the Christian tradition, these texts are all-too-often neglected because they are considered difficult and contain sometimes disturbing stories. In this section, I provide links to Hebrew Bibles as well as resources to aid both the layperson and the scholar/teacher in their studies. As Hebrew Bible is my primary research area, I plan to significantly expand this section with many more books and, consequently, I have created the sections linked in the table to make the page easier to navigate and resources easier to find. I hope that, regardless of your level of expertise, you will find books here that increase your understanding and appreciation of the Hebrew Bible.
