Healing our Autistic Children: A Medical Plan for Restoring Your Child's Health
by Julie Buckley, M.D.

Combining medical expertise with abundant pop-culture allusions and references, Buckley's book is a treasure of insight. She takes you through the medical plan step by step and explains the rationale behind each treatment. She addresses all aspects of dietary intervention, including the gluten- and casein-free diet, chelation, methylation, and more. Buckley clearly intended to write for the widest possible audience but her medical speak and even pop-culture references are going to be missed by some people. Seroussi's book (see below) might be a better choice for people who are new to the issues. That said, Buckley's book is more comprehensive and thorough in its coverage of the treatment options and the etiologies of autism. It's a resource too, something that you will want around to consult on fairly regular basis. more...
